Today was interesting. It started out as a lazy day at home with me cleaning here and there, and then nursing and then playing, and then feeding both of the boys again. Although I was very tired this morning, and a bit cranky too, we had ourselves some fun. In the afternoon, Michael started getting a bit... how should I say... disobedient. He wasn't really outright defiant, but he was being sneaky, and wouldn't come to me the first time I called among other things. Well we went up to Firewheel at 5 or so to try and give a lady up there a present for her daughter, and she ended up not being there. Michael was in countdown mode to meltdown time. He was running ahead, and not obeying, and just being a rowdy 4 year old. I had to grab him a couple of times to make him stop what he was doing. After me telling him that we were not going to play on the train or play in the store because of his attitude, we left, and he started his meltdown. Ohhh, the tears were coming!! And oh the yelling. I had this one guy look at me as if maybe I was kidnapping him because he was screaming so. I just drove home silent with him going in the back of the car, although it wasn't as bad as when we were at the mall. When we got home I told him that if he didn't obey the first time I told him to do something I was going to take away one of his toys, and he would not get it back for a while. He told me" I will cry forever if you take away all my toys!!!" When we got home he disobeyed pretty quickly, and so I told him one of his toys was gone. He was in full blown meltdown mode after that. He finally ran to his room and I told him to hand me his pirate ship, which he just got for Christmas, and he yelled no at me and threw it on his bed. Aiden was in my arms and very fussy, so I couldn't do much at that time. He dove onto his bed and grabbed it and started throwing it around. I told him it would go into the trash if he broke it. He then took it looked at me with a mad face and stuck his finger in his nose and rubbed snot all over the ship. I walked away. I almost burst out laughing. I had to go into the living room so he wouldn't see. I heard him yell from his room. "You have to go poop outside!!" after that he ran up to the front door and rubbed a booger on that.
I have to say, the whole time he is melting down, it is all I can do to keep from laughing. Some of the stuff he says it just so inappropriate and funny at the same time. I finally had to snuggle him to calm him down. That boy can throw a fit. We read books and at that point Daddy got home, and Michael fell asleep not long after that.
Pics not from today, just some fun ones.
One note: now that Michael's hair is getting long, he looks like a little homeless boy running around with his beanie hat on, and that first picture, is it not just so cute!!
