Meltdown

Today was interesting.  It started out as a lazy day at home with me cleaning here and there, and then nursing and then playing, and then feeding both of the boys again.  Although I was very tired this morning, and a bit cranky too, we had ourselves some fun.  In the afternoon, Michael started getting a bit... how should I say...  disobedient.  He wasn't really outright defiant, but he was being sneaky, and wouldn't come to me the first time I called among other things.   Well we went up to Firewheel at 5 or so to try and give a lady up there a present for her daughter, and she ended up not being there.  Michael was in countdown mode to meltdown time.  He was running ahead, and not obeying, and just being a rowdy 4 year old.  I had to grab him a couple of times to make him stop what he was doing.  After me telling him that we were not going to play on the train or play in the store because of his attitude, we left, and he started his meltdown.  Ohhh, the tears were coming!! And oh the yelling.  I had this one guy look at me as if maybe I was kidnapping him because he was screaming so.   I just drove home silent with him going in the back of the car, although it wasn't as bad as when we were at the mall.  When we got home I told him that if he didn't obey the first time I told him to do something I was going to take away one of his toys, and he would not get it back for a while.  He told me"   I will cry forever if you take away all my toys!!!"  When we got home he disobeyed pretty quickly, and so I told him one of his toys was gone.  He was in full blown meltdown mode after that.  He finally ran to his room and I told him to hand me his pirate ship, which he just got for Christmas, and he yelled no at me and threw it on his bed.  Aiden was in my arms and very fussy, so I couldn't do much at that time.  He dove onto his bed and grabbed it and started throwing it around.  I told him it would go into the trash if he broke it.  He then took it looked at me with a mad face and stuck his finger in his nose and rubbed snot all over the ship.  I walked away.  I almost burst out laughing.  I had to go into the living room so he wouldn't see.  I heard him yell from his room.  "You have to go poop outside!!"  after that he ran up to the front door and rubbed a booger on that.
I have to say, the whole time he is melting down, it is all I can do to keep from laughing.  Some of the stuff he says it just so inappropriate and funny at the same time.  I finally had to snuggle him to calm him down.  That boy can throw a fit.  We read books and at that point Daddy got home, and Michael fell asleep not long after that.
Pics not from today, just some fun ones.
One note:  now that Michael's hair is getting long,  he looks like a little homeless boy running around with his beanie hat on, and that first picture, is it not just so cute!!

Another round please...

Today is... was the last day of MDO until January 6th!!!  Not to say that I am excited or anything, but ...yay!!   I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas and New Years!! Such good FOOD.
I love shopping, and giving, and the fact that it is all about Jesus!!  Not in that particular order.  On Tues right after MDO I was taking the boys out to the car, and stopped to talk to a mom that was parked out there.  All of a sudden Michael comes running  up to me yelling and screaming and holding his head.  I loaded them into the car and was trying to figure out what was wrong when he statred really screaming.  He was crying and holding his head, and saying mama mama mama over and over again.  It was the kind of crying where you just want to hold him and rock him.  But because it was so unlike him to cry like that I got worried.  On top of all of that I wasn't allowed to go home because Peter was doing Christmas things.  My right front tire was almost flat, and the only saving grace was that Aiden fell alseep to Michael's crying.  So....  I had Peter meet me at racetrac with some ibprofin, and I gave that to Michael while he pumped up my tire and then we headed over to the doctors office.  I had called my mom who had called my dad, who met us up there to watch Aiden.  Well, they got us back there really fast and  saw us pretty quick, but getting Michael to cooperate is a whole other story.  Lets just say that when it was time to look in his ears, there were 2-3 people helping to hold him down.  So sad.  He had a very red bulging ear drum, which is why it hurt so bad.  While we were there, Peter went out to the car to get Aiden so that we could check his ears too.  Michael has one, but Aiden has one in both ears!!  So, I have two boys on Antibiotics again!  Aiden hasn't ever been able to have anything less than omnicef for his ears, and that is rough on his tummy and bottom.  So very fun.  Oh well, everyone is happy and painfree now.  Wed was a blur, and all I remember is that I went to the store by myself which is awesome!  Today went by fast, and now it is already 5 and I still have stuff to do.  Have a good day.

sick people... not really, well, kind of

Had a good day today.  After school, we went to visit Grandma.  While Michael was playing outside we were inside trying to get Aiden to smaile for some pics.  When we headed back outside, Michael had made a good size mud puddle and was soaked from head to toes, including his shoes.  everywhere!!!     We took some pics of that and then stipped him down outside and had a warm shower waiting for him when he went in.  He and I thought it was hilarious!!  After that we messed around until it was time to go home.  When we got home we just relaxed and played until dinnertime when Michael had a meltdown.  We finally got over that and he ate almost an entire personal totinos pizza!!!!  Peter ate the other piece.  Seriously! All of it was gone.   Aiden seems to be getting over that nasty cough that he had.  It was worrying me, as he would wake up in the mddle of the night coughing and trying to breathe.  I held off taking him to doctor, even though I did call to make sure they wouldn't really do anything about it.  Peter seems like he has been sick for weeks now, and I keep getting sinus pressure that leads to migrains.  Michael is runny runny runny, yuck.  He also has a cough and I think he doesn't feel all that tip top because he is having meltdowns faster.  Aiden is SOOO close to crawling!! Today he was on his belly and pushed up to where it looked like he was about to do a pushup.  You know,  arms straigh,t and up on his tip toes.  He hasn't figured how to get his knees under him yet.  Only a good nights sleep and a few more practices away.  AHHHH!! Time to really baby proof. What to do What to do!
This weekend is full of stuff to do.  Tommorow we have a teacher luncheon to go to and Michael will stay with babysitters at the church while I take Aiden with me.  He'll be good though.  He always is.  Later that night I will be going out with a few of the teachers to play some BINGO!!  Yes, good ol' bingo.  It is so much fun!!  We sit there and talk and laugh the whole time and get dirty looks from the hard core bingo plyers who have their good luck charms spread around them.  Last time we went my firend Kim won 750 dollars.  We don't do it for the money though, even though we say a prayer over our cards before we start. LOL!! I just laugh thinking about it.

catch up

TSK TSK TSK... Yes I know it has been over a month.  I really didn't know everybody read this that often.  I'll try and do better.

First things first!
Halloween pics!!
Both boys were frogs
.  First we went out to Firewheel to trick or treat at all of the
different stores.  We had so much fun, and everyone kept saying how cute Aiden looked.

One lady stopped us and asked if she could take a picture of him.  After that we went straight to church for the fall festival tat is held every year.  That was crazy!  We were some of
 the first

people there, and so we got all of the candy stuff over early and then Michael headed for the blow up obstacle course
s.  He ran on that almost the entire night.  His costume had to come off because he was getting so hot and sweaty.  That was a fun fun day.  The best part was at the end Daddy got off early enough to come and join us up there.  One of my best friends also was able to come and be there.  Her name is Lacey, and her boyfriend JD and daughter Alexis was there also.  Alexis is only 3, maybe 4 months older than Aiden, but she runs around like a mad woman!!  She loves to explore.
The month of November was fun and busy.
  Thanksgiving break was
awesome, and the food was delicious like always!
Right before Thanksgiving the boys and I went to reptile fest at the science place.  Michael had fun touching all the snakes, we got some special pictures of frogs for Grandma, and Aiden had his first fight with a bleach blond kid lol.  Other than the snakes there were the old favorites including the whirly coin thing, the
bubbles, and the water pit place.  But there were so many new things
there and Michael had a blast.

Right after Thanksgiving it was time for black Friday.  I was planning on getting up and sitting outside of target at 4am but kids make you tired.... and I was too
exhausted to go out there and sit in the cold with the
baby..... so I slept in.  I actually got up and went to target at  7 when I DIDN'T have to wait in line but I didn't know if my stuff would be there but
amazingly it was.  Somehow I ended up buying more stuff for me than for the rest of the family.  I did end up buying
Aiden a "Santa" present.  That will be his only present for the year since he doesn't know what Christmas is all about..... no not gifts.... JESUS!!!  But he still doesn't understand that he gets gifts too.  So one gift will be enough because I spent too much $$$ on Michael's gift which will be discussed in a later paragraph.  Later that day I drug my Mom out to Town East Mall which was... ... crazy
unbelievable.  Somehow I managed to get a spot somewhat near the door of Sears and even though my Mom warned me
that I might get towed away I assured her that we were in a spot where we wouldn't get towed
away.  So we went in Sears, got pushed around, only to figure out that they didn't have what we want and that the sale didn't last all day anyway.  Before we left we were able to see Santa an
d get some good pictures of the boys, there was absolutely no line too see him, which was surprising considering how full the mall was.  THAT was all in November.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving we hammered out our Christmas decorations.  We put up our tree, Christmas train, and
Peter made me very happy by stringing the lights outside, it is GORGEOUS!!  AND SO MUCH FUN!!!  Then I got to start wrapping presents.  Did I say I love Christmas?

So here we are now, and the only reason any of this is typed up is because I am telling Peter what to type because "I" am not very good at it and he is very fast, so thank you Peter my wonderfully
handsome husband... who is rather drugged up
 on Nyquil and Tylenol PM.

This month is shaping up
to be interesting as well.  Aiden wants to crawl so bad!!  I think he actually would rather walk around than crawl.  But I
think no matter what he just wants to be able to follow big brother around.   Today was cute.
I was singing to him and
he started clapping.  I don't think he necessarily
did it on purpose, but it
was cute either way.  He is still having texture
 issue
s when eating, and I
know he wants to eat what we eat.  He can't
 handle anything that h
as
a gooey texture.  He loves things that crunch and are harder, but he gags on anything that is mushy.  He hates baby food and actually likes the taste of the grownup food, but he still gags on that
too.  Nursing is getting to the point where I am ready, but not ready.  Anyone understand that?

Michael is Michael.  He has all of a sudden grown his own little attitude in the last month or so.  Not just regular Michael attitude, but Michael times four attitude, with all of the faces and extra mad noises free of charge.  He is a curious, lively little boy that drives me up the walls.  That being said, I laugh at him more than anything.  He is a funny little crazy thing with enough energy to power a whole city.

For the month of October and November I was feeling very drained.  This month is a little better, and I do think it has something to do with all the money I've been spending and the fact that I get to give people gifts!!!!  I love this time of year, and I love buying things for other people and giving them presents.  I have even given my parents their gifts early!!  It drives Peter absolutely crazy that I have already given them their gifts but I love it!! I see them use them or wear them and just smile.
I am excited to give Michael his SANTA present this year.  He has been asking for a long time for one of those really expensive power wheels cars.  I found one on craigslist for a quarter of the price.  I just know that he will love it!!  So going to have to record the reaction!!!!
Did I mention that I love love love Christmas??

More cute pics!!

fair day!!

Today was very fun but very exhausting!!!  Last night Michael Aiden and I spent the night at grandma's house so tha we could just get up and go to the fair this morning.  I don't know if I'll do that again because I feel like I have to pack half of the house in order to spend the night.  I slept in Charlie's bed which is actually very comfortable.  Any hoo.  We got to the fair at maybe 10 or so.  We parked and then made our way all the way to the gate.  We put child security bracelets on the kids and Olivia before we did anything else.  Michael did not want anything on him for some reason.  He was set on riding the faris wheel when we got there but then wanted to ride more of the smaller rides instead of one ride on the wheel.  He had such a great time.  Aiden was great too!!  I fed him once near the beginning of when we got there, and then he slept, woke up, changed his diaper and then went back to sleep.  That was his fair day.  He was such a happy baby.
Michael rode on....2 rides and then we walked towards the food court/big tex/car show.  After all the fun over there we walked back through the kid midway so that he could finish riding rides.  Then he rode on at least 5 other rides.  He was so brave!!  Ia and I went on a couple with him because we had too.  I think I enjoyed two of the rides the best.  The giant slide and the rollecoaster because we got a cute pic from it.  I'll let the pics do the talking.
Michael was so tired he fell alseep on the way home and took a really good nap when we got to the house.  Mom me and dad took showers because we felt gross.  Around 6 I took both of the boys home.
Michael was not very good at driving that hummer car.  In his defense, pappaw said that it had a defective wheel.  Funny story.  Olivia siad that Michael and this other boy were arguing in line and the other little boy said that he was going to get a certain car.  Michale said back with an attitude, no you're not, I'm gonna get that one and you're gonna get the pink one!  Olivia tells it fuunnier.
We had a wonderful day, have a good night.

garage sales!

Today I had a meeting at OTB in the morning a t8.  I ended up taking both boys with me.  In all honesty I didn't really care weather they liked it or not.  I only work once a month and because of my wonderful husband, that is all I have to work.  Mine were the only kids there but they were both pretty good.  At least I thought we were doing good until I looked over and saw that Michael had indeed colored all over the table cloth with a pen.  I used a napkin and water and some good scrubbing and it came off easily.
After that I went over to my parent's house to feed the baby and hang out a little.   I then realized that God had caused me to have a ridiculously early meeting at a job I only work at once a month in order to make sure that I didn't miss my parent's nieghborhood garage sale day.  YES!  Score!  My parent's and both the boys went around the block once and then went driving around.  We didn't get out until maybe 11 or so.  So i guess most of the really good stuff was gone.  But in all honesty, what can a bunch of older people really have that I want or need?  I only had a 5 dollar bill on me, so that limited my spending.  I got a couple of cool things.  After that I fed Aiden at their house and rested, as I hadn't eaten lunch and felt extremely weak and shaky.  I also felt like I was going to throw up but I think that was because I needed to eat.
Overall a pretty fun day.
Have a wonderful night.
Randi and Michael planted trees and Michael decided he was going to plant his own.  It is a pen.
Aiden was sitting on pappaws chest and playing with his face.

lactose intolerant

Well yesterday was fun.  I bought some yo baby yogurt for Aiden thinking that it would help him a little with the antibiotics being so harsh on his system.  Joyce said he ate almost all of it.  Those things are big.  Well at the end of the day Stephanie comes running down the hallway through parents picking up their kids and tells me that Aiden was throwing up everywhere.  Lovely huh?  At that moment I knew that he was throwing up because of the yogurt.  It is made with whole milk and every formula we have tried that is milk-based he has thrown up.  I guess he is either lactose intolerent or his system is just not ready for that yet.  Who knows.  Poor stephanie just had no idea what was going on.  That throwup smelled pretty bad too.  After that I took Aiden home as it wsa the end of the day and all three of us just hung out until bedtime.  I actually cooked something for me to eat, and it was pretty good.  I hate cooking.  but I love to eat.
Today was good too.  Both boys did well and Michael enjoyed rainbows.  It was funny because when I walked into the room to feed Aiden he was sitting in a highchair and quietly playing with a toy.  As soon as he looked up and saw me he started whining as if to say hey there you are, now feed me.  His whine was actually somewhere in between a whine and a laugh.  He would whine and then kind of giggle at the same time.   I couldn't get him out of highchair fast enough.  He fell asleep as I nursed him.
Michael is pretty much back to his sweet self.  I think being sick, or lack of sleep for me, affects us all and makes us all grumpy.
Other than that I am tired.  Good night.
michael really wanted to wear his tie to school, looks cute huh?
Aiden is making good strides regarding pushing up, but gets frustrated that he can't move around yet.  soon.  All too soon.

short and sweet

Quick update today, and no pics because I don't have time to upload them.  I think that both of th boys are feeling better from their ear infections, but Aiden is having a hard time with his antibiotic making his tummy hurt, and as a result his bottom is hurting too.  So far, even though I have slathered on at least an inch thick of butt paste, he still has a pretty bad rash.  I am going to give him some yogurt tommorrow to see if that helps a bit.
I was very proud of Michael tonight.  On the way home from grandma's house I told him that we were going to do something different for dinner tonight.  I told him that I have a different kind of chicken to try.  Of course that threw him into a bit of a whine fest.  I told him that it is the same kind of chicken that he normally eats, it was just cooked a different way.  After a little explaining, I gave him a choice.  I said that he could either eat my chicken and get a surprise after, or he could eat his normal chicken nuggets and not get a surprise.  After a minor fit about that he said "How about I eat my chicken nuggets and then I get a surprise, how about that choice?  I like that choice."  I kind of laughed and told him how clever he was but that he didn't get to make up choices.  I gave him the choice once more and said " you can have your choice, but I don't want to hear any more whining about it."  He did good on the way home.  I think I sparked his interest because when we got home he kept asking to see what kind of chicken it was, and I was putting the groceries away so I didn't have time to get it out immedieatley.  He took a bite off of his plate and ate it.  Then I sat him down in te living room to eat his dinner, and he ate almost all of it.  He had roasted chicken and corn.  Cool huh??  He got a brownie after.  He was a happy happy boy.  He even went right to sleep when I put him down.
This morning Aiden woke up at 5 and wanted to talk and play.  He would not go back down, so I got up and let him bounce around for a while and ended up nursing him back to sleep about 7.  Michale woke up at 8:30 and came and woke me up.  So I didn't get much sleep at all.  Hopefully I will tonight if I ever make it over that way.
Here is a couple of just random cute pics.
